The person in question did not have time to detox or they would have. His boss changed company's and took a few guys with him and had no idea there might be a problem. He does not work impaired as it is done before bed (to aid in sleeping). It would not affect me in anyway if I did it and most likely would not get caught but it may affect me if I didn't and he didn't get the job.

I guess I want to know why I won't do it. I am a very honest person. I follow the law (most of the time, I have a lead foot though). I was curious if it was the JW upbringing that puts me on my moral high ground. I have been out along time but still have very high standards that I hold myself to (and others sorry to say). Another reason is possibly being Canadian I have never wanted to get in any kind of legal trouble so as not to be deported (unlikely, but possible).

So did the WBTS make my conscience? and can it be over riden?

Thank you everyone for your replies so far. The drug in question here is pot. I personally feel it should be legalized for recreational use as I think it is even less dangerous then too much alcohol. As it stands, it is not tolerated, hence the problem.

Thank you for the link Blondie, they don't have a drug law listing for my state (of course). I'm off to work and will reply when I get home to further posts. Thanks guys!

Would you pee for someone to pass a pee test for a new job? I was asked to do so. I could pass with flying colors. I work hard to be drug & alcohol free, it is a choice I make. I said "NO WAY", but am I over reacting? Is it such a big deal?

I know this person well and it would not be in anyway harming anyone, they are not abusers at all but relaxation at appropriate times. I know all the ways to fool the test so I don't need those answers really. What would your conscience be?

Does it make a differance if the person is a differant gender? The test is tomorrow.

What say ye?

Hubby and I have our own, he brushes at the sink, I usually brush in the shower. I squeeze the middle til it needs squished to the top, then rolled.

Good post. I can see many examples where this would make sense.

This board for example. There has been several threads about people replying to posts and what makes one more popular then another. Why some people can say something from the heart and get almost no replys and others can cry about a hang nail and get 3 pages of sympathy (total exaggeration on my part, kinda) but it feels like a rejection and painful to the one getting no responses to their pain.

I worked for a man once who showed an example of this. He lived with a girl who was pretty, sweet, loving and young. Her father was a deacon of the church and she was totally going against what she believed to be with this guy (she could have done much better). She wanted to be married and have children, she would make a wonderful wife and mother. After years of living together and her wanting a commitment from him (so she could have children) and giving him a deadline she left him to pursue her dream of marriage.

My boss had a problem with commitment to anything. It took him a year to buy a pair of boots. He had to research the performance, R factor etc. of many boots to find the perfect pair. Took him months to research and buy a truck. I'm sure he was applying the same principles to finding a wife. I think it came down to not wanting to fail at what he decided, his decision had to be the perfect one.

He (and everyone around him) was in total hell for a year while he tried to prove he was mister wonderful to get her back. He was a mess emotionally and physically. He didn't want her, he had never said anything nice about her, didn't act like he loved her...............until SHE rejected him. He didn't want her or kids (he said he was afraid there might be something wrong with them) but the rejection by her was too much for him to bare. He would sit in a corner and rock, he would cry, he would talk to total strangers in a store about his sorry love life. He was useless for one year. He finally got her back and instantly started treating her like crap again. She had dreamed of a nice wedding she settled for a quicky wedding and a small reception of family. Last I heard they still had no kids (9 years later).

Of course we also have the shunning of witness family and friends. This is the theory behind that..............

thanks so much to everyone for their support over the past weeks.. .

tim interviewed me every night this past week in order to get me ready.

it was grueling and i was in tears (not due to any pressure from him, but because of my own inadequacies); i've relied in the past on my personal warmth and integrity to get jobs but really needed to learn how to answer difficult questions.
